Yorkshire Cancer Research was founded in 1925, to fund research into the cause and cure of cancer, which today, accounts for one in four deaths in this country.
The UK’s largest independent regional medical research charity, YCR funds around £4 million of research each year in the region’s five centres of research excellence at the Universities of Bradford, Hull, Leeds, Sheffield and York… and their associated teaching hospitals. The charity remains one of the most efficient in the cancer research field, spending 80 pence in every pound on cancer research.
Breakthroughs do not happen every day, but daily we add to the knowledge held about cancer. The more knowledge we gain about the disease the further hope we can offer cancer sufferers.
Research is expensive. Yorkshire Cancer Research only funds research of the highest quality, as reviewed by cancer experts around the world. Currently, we are only able to fund half of the top-rated projects that apply for funding. We’d like to fund them all.
This will only be possible with your help, we need your donations now. Please make a donation to Yorkshire Cancer Research today and join our fight to cure cancer.
