Summer Festival – Celebrating Birmingham's Gem
The Jewellery Quarter dates back over 250 years and is still home to over 100 specialist jewellery retailers that offer affordable luxury and exceptional choice as well as still making over 40% of UK jewellery.
At the Jewellery Quarter you will find all sorts to do, with over 30 restaurants and bars, many set in atmospheric surroundings, art galleries, including the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (the second oldest independant gallery in the UK) and St. Paul's Gallery with the world's largest display of rock album cover art, as well as the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter that was recently voted in the Top 3 Free European Attractions by Trip Advisor - that's above Notre Dame in Paris and the Duomo in Florence!!
You can enjoy all that the Jewellery Quarter has to offer and more by coming along and celebrating Birmingham's Gem at the Summer Festival taking place on Saturday 4th July. The Jewellery Quarter are also celebrating the legacy of Matthew Boulton with activities and live music for all the family throughout the day.
There will be a Jewellers' market, music from Matthew Boulton's era courtesy of 'Voices from City of Birmingham Choir', 'Acapella Birmingham Chamber Choir' and 'Birmingham Conservatoire', Matthew Boulton himself will be telling his story, the '24 Carrot' Farmers' Market, alfresco jazz festival session with The Shuffling Hungarians and Smooth Radio's Tammy and the Smooth Radio Road Crew will be there to join in with the fun.
There will be a vintage red bus picking up and dropping off at key points around the Jewellery Quarter and out to the city centre to pick people up from Victoria Square so you will have no problem getting about.
